Convert component masses to chirp mass and mass ratio.
- Parameters:
m1 (float or torch.Tensor) – Primary mass (must be >= m2).
m2 (float or torch.Tensor) – Secondary mass.
- Returns:
mchirp (same type as input) – Chirp mass
(m1*m2)^(3/5) / (m1+m2)^(1/5).q (same type as input) – Mass ratio
m1 / m2(>= 1 when m1 >= m2).
- chirp_distance_to_distance(chirp_distance, mchirp)[source]
Convert chirp distance to luminosity distance.
Uses the standard relation
d_L = d_chirp * (Mc / 1.2 Msun)^(5/6)where 1.2 Msun is the chirp mass of a 1.4+1.4 Msun binary.- Parameters:
chirp_distance (float or torch.Tensor) – Chirp distance in Mpc.
mchirp (float or torch.Tensor) – Chirp mass in solar masses.

Luminosity distance in Mpc.
